YOUR EYEWEAR OPTIONS ARE NOT LIMITED TO YOUR FRAMES.

Lens Technology

Offering the latest in digital lens technology is paramount at Ashley’s Optical. Our lenses of choice are Essilor Brands. Our highly trained staff will recommend the best lenses for your visual needs based on a personalized assessment including occupation, sports, hobbies, computer work and reading.

Digitally Surfaced

The latest technology in eyeglass lenses is digital surfacing. Digitally surfaced lenses are customized for your visual needs and are especially beneficial for progressive lens wearers. Similar to the difference between standard and HD television, digitally surfaced lenses help provide more crisp and sharp vision.

Progressive Lenses

Unlike the outdated design of bifocal and trifocal lenses, progressive lenses have no lines, helping wearers to have a better cosmetic appearance while wearing their eyeglasses. They are the ideal solution for people age 40 and older needing help viewing multiple distances.

Computer Lenses

Specifically designed for computer users and people who engage in visually intense work or hobbies, these lenses offer a much larger intermediate area that provides a more relaxed and comfortable visual experience while reducing digital eye strain.

Phoenix (Trivex)

This lens material is innovative and incredibly tough and scratch resistant along with being the lightest lens material on the planet.

Significant features of Phoenix (Trivex) are:

  1. The lightest lens material available on the planet.
  2. Twice as scratch resistant as polycarbonate.
  3. 60 times more impact resistant than standard plastic, exceeding FDA impact guidelines.
  4. UV Protection.
  5. Provides the clearest possible vision available, free from annoying distortions common in older lens technologies such as polycarbonate and plastic lenses.

Polycarbonate

Even though the material is thinner and lighter than plastic, Polycarbonate has several other benefits such as UV protection – even in clear lenses. Polycarbonate is shatterproof and impact resistant, providing eye safety and durability benefits. For this reason, polycarbonate should be the lens material of choice for anyone under 18 or concerned about eye safety.

High-Index

All high-index lenses provide UV protection – even when the lenses are clear, and hey are even thinner and lighter than polycarbonate. There are several levels of high-index lenses and the optimal one is based on your prescription and individual preference. Individuals with higher prescriptions usually prefer high-index lenses because they are thinner and more attractive. Your optician can help you make the best selection based on your prescription and needs. Also, a no-glare lens treatment is highly recommended for all lenses, regardless of the material.

Anti – Reflection Lenses

If you are an eyeglasses wearer, regardless of the type of glasses you wear, you can benefit from having a no-glare lens coating. No-glare lenses help provide the best vision possible, and also enable you to look cosmetically attractive in your eyeglasses. Additional benefits include a reduction in nighttime halos and overall eyestrain.

Polarized

These lenses are a safe and comfortable solution when it comes to outdoor protection for your eyes. They not only protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, they also significantly reduce glare. By reducing road and vehicle glare, drivers are able to react faster to hazards on the road.

Photochromic Lenses

Also known as Transitions lenses, Photochromic lenses automatically adjust from clear to dark when you go outdoors. These versatile lenses provide protection and glare reduction for better vision without squinting or straining of the eyes.

Mirrored Lenses

These lenses are coated to protect your eyes from glare by reflecting light away from your eyes. They are available in a wide variety of fashion colors.
